The Netherlands' premier "In-Water Boat Show"

If you’ve ever been captivated by the allure of the open sea, the dance of sunlight on the water, or the gentle sway of a yacht under the caress of a cool breeze, then Hiswa te Water is an event tailored for you. The 38th edition of the “In-Water Boat Show” will take place in 2023 in Batavia Haven Lelysta from the 30th of August until the 3rd of September 2023. The harbor will then be transformed into a Valhalla for every type of water sports enthusiast. As it stands, around 375 boats are expected and all stands on the quay and in the large entrance tent will be manned. Like no other trade fair, the Hiswa te Water will become the event where you can inform and orient yourself about everything the nautical water sport has to offer.

A Brief History

Hiswa te Water can trace its roots back to the original HISWA Amsterdam Boat Show, which has been a renowned event in the boating world since the 1930s. The in-water version of this event was introduced to give enthusiasts and potential buyers a unique opportunity – to see and experience boats in their natural environment: the water.

The new version of this traditional event started in 2018, internationally recognized as the largest in-water boat show in Northern Europe, has been taking place in the Batavia Haven in Lelystad. After two well-attended editions (2018 and 2019) in this well-known, centrally located water sports resort, covid-19 happened and an online variant of it was proposed, back to 2022 in real life! A total of 340 new boats were shown during the 2022nd edition of the Hiswa in Water, the feeling on the scaffolding was not only good, there were also optimistic sounds in terms of sales. For example, boats were already sold on the first day of the fair and a full agenda of follow-up appointments went home for many.

More than Boats and water Sports

Besides all the beautiful boats in the marina and beautiful stands on the quay, there is much more to do. Demonstrations on the quay, sea trial in the marina, delicious food on one of the terraces and a visit to Batavia Stad Fashion Outlet or Batavia Museum. Theme tours through the port accompanied by a specialist of the fair. And if you come with a group, there are special arrangements so you can get a real ‘behind the scenes’ tour with all the details.

Sustainability and Innovation

In recent years, there has been a notable emphasis on sustainability at Hiswa te Water. The event provides a platform for showcasing innovative designs that focus on environmentally-friendly propulsion systems, renewable materials, and energy-efficient solutions. The maritime world is evolving, and this event is at the forefront of showcasing these changes.

Hiswa te Water is more than just a boat show; it’s a celebration of nautical culture, design, and innovation. It’s where the past, present, and future of boating come together in a unique setting, providing a memorable experience for all attendees. Whether you’re an avid sailor, a maritime professional, or just someone with a casual interest in boats, Hiswa te Water is an event that shouldn’t be missed.
