Hidden bays in Menorca

The island of Menorca in the Balearics has some of the most spectacular bays in the world and the captain of your yacht knows exactly which ones to visit at its incredible coastline.

Hidden bays in Menorca that you need to add to your yacht charter itinerary

It is not hard for anyone to picture themselves enjoying a relaxing day in a beautiful cove, surrounded by the bluest water you have ever seen, listening to the gentle waves crashing at the unspoiled beach… The island of Menorca in the Balearics has some of the most spectacular bays in the world and the captain of your yacht knows exactly which ones to visit
at its incredible coastline. You will feel like stepping into a scene from a famous movie while anchoring near these hidden gems, ready to star in your own script.

1. Cala Rafalet

Are you looking for crystal clear water and a sea life that beckons you to go snorkeling? Ask the captain to set sail to Cala Rafalet, a hidden bay on Menorca’s eastern coast. This cliff-shrouded cove harbors a surprising array of sea life, so ask the crew to get the snorkeling equipment out and take a dip in the warm water to admire life below sea level. Marvel at
the half-submerged caves while listening to the murmur of animals scurrying away at this remote, quiet beach. After your unforgettable time at this secluded bay, the tender will pick you up to bring you back home, to the yacht, where you will be welcomed with a cocktail before getting ready for another perfect evening onboard.

2. Sa Mesquida Beach

In the north-east of Menorca, Sa Mesquida is a picturesque and remote beach with excellent white sand and clear calm water. The rocky bottom and its location make it a popular place among surfers during high winds and the depth of the crystal clear waters attract divers from all over the world. Whether you are a lover of a bit more challenging water sports or enjoy swimming at your own pace in the lovely water, this bay will give you the opportunity to combine your water sport skills with a well-deserved, relaxing lunch at the beach, where the crew of your yacht has set up a perfect spot for you to enjoy a private beach picnic.

3. Caló Roig

Located close to Alcaufar is the smallest beach in Menorca: Caló Roig. The most wonderful way to get to the spectacular beach at this hidden cove is by water, either calming making your way by tender, paddling in with a kayak or taking the jet ski out if you feel that adrenaline surging and are ready for some action. As soon as you step foot on the warm
sand you will be enthralled: the tiny, inviting beach is nestled between two cliffs whose white sandy beaches glisten in the sunshine. Simply stunning and a perfect setting to enjoy the outdoors with your loved ones. Enjoy the water, the sun, the beach, the perfect beverage made to your order, a nice lunch, or brunch if you decide to head out early for that early bird feeling. If you feel like going for a walk, Torre Alcaufar, a guard tower dating back to the 18th century, is not far away and open to visitors.

4. Cala Escorxada

Cala Escorxada is the type of beach you dream of discovering, this bay is very hard to reach by land and is best accessed by the sea, thus making it a perfect destination on your itinerary. A must see during your yacht charter, you can talk to the captain and crew about the right time to visit this cove. The tender will drop you off at the white sandy beach, or you can ask the crew to help you get there using a kayak or jet ski when you feel really adventurous. The rugged wild beauty of this cove is what sets it apart from all the other bays. Your private spot to enjoy this secluded beach will be set up for you by the crew, so settle in for the day at this peaceful beach and don’t forget to take lot of pictures.

5. Cala Pregonda

On the north coast of Menorca, Cala Pregonda will blow you away with its otherworldly landscape. The captain will make sure you will visit the smaller, untouched cove of the two coves in this area, where the jagged orange rocks rising up from the sea will give you a perfect feel of privacy. The turquoise water makes this bay an amazing place to snorkel and the crew will be happy to assist you with your gear to do so. Explore the underwater world and relax afterwards at the tranquil golden beach. Visiting Cala Pregonda can be combined with a stop at Cala Barril, so check with the crew and discuss the most convenient way to do so, maybe you can kayak over.

6. Cala Barril

Perhaps the best kept secret is Cala Barril at the north coast of Menorca, close to Cala Pregonda. If you really want to enjoy a wild cove in total tranquility, visit this little piece of paradise and enjoy the reddish sand, which is so characteristic of the beaches in the North.

With so many perfect hidden bays in Menorca, you will have no problem to find one that will fit right in with what you ever expected to when dreaming about that turquoise, warm water and those pristine white beaches. And on board of your amazing yacht, you can make those dreams come true and visit as many of them as you like, while in being pampered by your outstanding crew.
