Charlie Kinder
Captain
Charlie took command of Lumir at just 21 and is one of fewer than two per cent of female superyacht captains worldwide. Raised in the Whitsundays, she grew up on the water and carved her path in a male-dominated industry through determination, skill, and a healthy disregard for “girls can’t do that.” Known for calm leadership, high standards, and running a tight ship; with a smile (most days) and having a very clear plan when things don’t go to plan.
Tyron Pretorius
Engineer
Tyron brings over 10 years of experience to the team, starting on deck and working his way into engineering. Known for his dry humour and wealth of experience, he’s an invaluable part of the team and always willing to jump in wherever needed; unless the deck crew have borrowed his tools again and not returned them, in which case all negotiations are off.
Charlie Johnson
First Officer
Charlie 2.0 (aka “Baby Charlie” as he is fondly known onboard) is the crew’s go-to for anything deck related. Ocean-raised and permanently in motion, he keeps operations smooth and the jet skis and tender running. Easy-going until there’s a job to do, then suddenly very efficient. Usually found outside, even when he doesn’t need to be. When he’s not running tenders or keeping the deck immaculate, you’ll likely find him surfing, travelling, or “just checking the swell” for the fifth time that hour.
