Boatsters Black is proud to announce the successful sale of a Nuvolari Lenard NL 52 Plus, officially signed in November. The yacht will be built by Mengi Yay and is scheduled for launch in January 2027, marking a defining moment for both the design studio and the project.
This sale represents the first in-build NL52 Plus unit from Nuvolari Lenard’s own NL branded range, marking a significant evolution for one of the most respected design houses in the superyacht industry.

Nuvolari Lenard NL52 Plus Project NB114: Design, Layout and Concept
The Nuvolari Lenard NL52 Plus Project NB114 marks a new benchmark in the sub-55-metre superyacht segment, combining contemporary Italian design with a highly efficient and owner-focused layout. Measuring approximately 52.6 metres and remaining under the 500 GT threshold, the NL52 Plus has been conceived for experienced owners seeking generous volume, strong indoor-outdoor flow, and long-term cruising comfort without compromise.
Currently under construction at Mengi Yay, Project NB114 is the first unit of the NL52 Plus series and reflects a close collaboration between the shipyard and the renowned design studio Nuvolari Lenard. The exterior design is defined by clean, powerful lines and expansive deck spaces, including an aft beach club with fold-out terraces and direct sea access, as well as a large sundeck designed for both relaxation and social use.

Interior spaces prioritize light, openness, and versatility, with a carefully planned layout that enhances privacy while maintaining a strong connection to the surrounding environment. Accommodation includes a full-beam owner’s suite and multiple guest cabins, all designed to deliver a refined yet relaxed onboard atmosphere. A dedicated wellness area further elevates the onboard experience, aligning the yacht with modern expectations for lifestyle-driven superyacht living.

Naval architecture by Van Oossanen ensures optimized performance and efficiency, supporting the yacht’s ability to offer impressive volume and comfort while remaining within key regulatory thresholds. This technical foundation, paired with Nuvolari Lenard’s design philosophy, positions the NL52 Plus as a highly competitive new-build yacht for both private ownership and future charter potential.
A new chapter for an iconic design studio

For more than three decades, Nuvolari Lenard has shaped the identity of the modern superyacht fleet. Founded by Carlo Nuvolari and Dan Lenard, the Italian studio is internationally recognised for its work on some of the world’s most iconic yachts, including Black Pearl, Nord, Bravo Eugenia, Ilona, and Quattroelle. Their designs have been brought to life by leading shipyards such as Lürssen, Oceanco, CRN, Palmer Johnson, Perini Navi and Amels.
With the introduction of the Nuvolari Lenard Plus range, the studio consolidates its extensive experience in exterior design, interior architecture and project oversight into a clearly defined branded concept. The Plus range offers owners a cohesive vision from the earliest design stages through to delivery, combining Italian design language with technical reliability and build efficiency.
Built by Mengi Yay
Construction of the yacht will be undertaken by Mengi Yay, one of Turkey’s most established shipyards. Founded in 1964, Mengi Yay is widely respected for its expertise in steel and aluminium construction and has delivered over 200 vessels across various segments.
The shipyard has an existing relationship with Nuvolari Lenard, having successfully built several sub 500 GT yachts designed by the studio. This continuity ensures a smooth build process and consistent execution of the design vision throughout the project.
